Reflecting ?

Have you ever hadreturned from a date with someone new, sat down and dissected the events of the evening in minute detail? Perhaps you have wondered whether a comment you made could have had an unintended meaning or was perhaps misunderstood.

Have you ever worried whether you have misread your date?s body language or ? particularly if the date goes awry, pondered over what went wrong and how to avoid making the same mistakes next time?

This is perhaps an overly negative view of a possibly lovely Evening, but it serves to the fact that all of us in our daily life, take some time to meditate and to things that happen during our time reflect highlight.

When this is done consciously or unconsciously, we all respond to the circumstances of thinking and processing of events through memory and remembrance. And more often than not, these thoughts make decisions and these decisions create opportunities that determine future actions.

So we can back from vacation, armedwith photographs and tales, and while reflecting, may decide to return there again next year, or perhaps, because things went horribly wrong, opt for a better travel agent, or different destination.

Or perhaps, as a parent returning from a tour of a few prospective schools for your child, you have sat down to discuss the options open to you. You recall each school visited, and remember the impact each may have had. You weigh the pros and cons of each, consider each scenario from a range Perspectives and ultimately make a decision that is not in a hurry.

Think of times recent and past where you stopped to reflect and think about it, have experience. They “think” and “Remembrance” are not synonymous: if we we remember the events and details, and “think” if we use our skills of critical thinking, with analysis and evaluation, synthesis and argumentation. We groped to find questions and answers, plan and build the facilities, weProcess, to deconstruct and evaluate the results of ideas and strategies. From this we are able to make decisions that must be met and articulate the ways to implement these decisions.

Find as, in an attempt to adequately define the process of reflection, let this simple formula:

Memory and thinking, making decisions PLANNING AND REFLECTIVE + =

We all, in one form or another, to think about our experiences. Reflective practice, however, is a meansevidence for this kind of thinking and reasoning. It is a record of the ways we thought and to reflect an experience.

THE IMPORTANCE OF reflective practice

I would like to claim that improvements would be in school more deeply, if at all schools take reflective practice, how to make a daily habit.

I’m not alone in my thinking:

“The critical reflection on his experiences remains an effective technique for professional development.” B. Kettle,And Sellars, N. (1996). The development of student teachers practical theory of teaching. Teaching and Teacher Education, 12 (1), 1-24. EJ 526 790

“By their nature, causes the cycle of reflective practice, teachers take a step back and reflect critically not only to teach you how, but also because they teach in a certain way.” Sch?n, DA (1996). “Next year is myfinal year and I feel moreonfident and motivated in my studies since completing this module and have learnt a lot about myself and my learning style, through keeping the journal and I am going to start keeping one permanently so my reflective learning process can be enhanced. I now know the skills that graduate employers will be looking for and I must have them to get a good job ? my action plan will help me to do this.? Student, Napier University

?The primary benefit of reflective Practice for teachers is a deeper understanding of their way of teaching and ultimately more effective than teachers. Other specific benefits were observed in the current literature, including the validation of the ideals of the teacher, charity challenge to tradition, the recognition of teaching as an art, and respect for diversity in the application of theory into classroom practice. “Freidus, H. “The main advantage of the reflective practice for teachers is a deeper understanding of theirown teaching style and ultimately, greater effectiveness as a teacher. It is impossible to separate from the AFL-reflection, such as the ability to greatly influence the will of key areas such as self-and peer-assessment.
